Vein grafts are time consuming and in the older patient the material is not that good. Surgeons are efficient but impatient and with a ready available VC graft they could end up doing 3 ops instead of 2 ops per session. With the vein option you have 2 operation sites with 2 wounds and an increased possibility of bleeding and infection.
