Agree with your last line. Advantage of being one government one leader is that China don't waste time & money that indian government does with so many states and various political parties with very different agenda and it takes decades to implement one reform which mostly get changed when government change!
so while they had strong leader at federal level but recent election loss will make new government helpless in doing anything until they get majority...one of the curse of running democracy!!
