I'm confused about the timing, why release something so hypothetical at this point? If a potential TO offer was made for BHP it would end this very abruptly, I wonder who the new fortune teller on the block is? Last year it was "we will never abandon our progressive dividend policy" - so never doesn't really mean ever, just maybe. Maybe BHP will be mining the Pilbara for the next 100 years............................still a stretch. At this point they would be better served to stop the semantics and get on rebuilding a great business, tell us about it when credibility has been restored.
