News: BHP LIVE MARKETS-Miners and airlines lift STOXX

MINERS AND AIRLINES LIFT STOXX The STOXX 600 .STOXX is up 0.3%, buoyed by basic resources stocks up 1.2% while retailers .SXRP provide a small 0.3% drag.

Miners are getting a boost, as iron ore prices hit a three-week high and mining giant BHP is out with some positive results. Among them are Anglo American .AAL.L , up 2.3%, and Rio Tinto .RIO.L , up 2.1%.

Meanwhile the index's top mover is British business supplies distributor Bunzl .BNZL.L , soaring 10.4% to a record high after raising its annual adjusted operating profit.

Ryanair RYA.L shares are enjoying a 4% lift, after the budget airline's group CEO Michael O'Leary said the company no longer sees a risk of double-digit percentage falls in average fares this summer as weakness has "levelled out."

Easyjet EZJ.L is also up 3.8% and Deutche Lufthansa LHAG.DE shares are up 2%. At the bottom of the STOXX 600 is Swiss airport operator Flughafen Zuerich FHZN.S , down 4.5% after posting a H1 margin miss.
