The deflationary environment could last a very long time, oil won't go above $45 ever I believe, new gas fields in America have unveiled a staggering amount of reserves, enough to surplant coal for decades to come, (coal is basically dead now being filthy and inefficient)the investment of renewables has increased exponentially as oil and coal has plummeted while at the same time renewables efficiency has improved massively driving down the costs per watt making it comparable to coal and oil. Copper and uranium are facing their own deflationary headwinds as negative market sentiment is dragging them down with everything else, the only shining light for BHP is gold and that gigantic block that's concreted over at the bottom of Olympic dam shaft, well they better start digging that out soon because they're going to need it to survive the next 10 years.
