June 1 (Reuters) - Bitcoin, the world's biggest and best-known cryptocurrency, closed down 5.2% at $30,121.82 on Wednesday, losing $1,657.93 compared to its previous closing price.
It BTC=BTSP was down 37.6% from the year's high of $48,234 hit on March 28.
Ether ETH=BTSP , the coin linked to the ethereum blockchain network, dropped 6.21% to close at $1,820.05, losing $120.5 from its previous closing price.
