Bradken Limited (ASX:BKN) has appointed Dr David Smith as a non-executive director of the company from February 1.

 

Dr Smith has extensive operational and business development experience, including business integration, growth and safety.

 

He has over 30 years of experience with Rio Tinto, serving as President of Rio Tinto Atlantic and Managing Director of the mining giant’s iron ore business in Australia.

 

Mr Smith is currently lead independent director with Atlas Iron and deputy chairman of the WA Ballet.

 

Bradken delivered a net profit of $66.9 million in fiscal 2013.
