Brickworks Limited (ASX:BKW) will close its Plant 3 manufacturing operation in Western Australia and will cease operating as soon as July this year. This follows the closure of another operating facility in 2009.
Brickworks Managing Director, Lindsay Partridge says, the closure is due to a slowing in residential construction activity.
The building products division of Brickworks includes Austral Bricks.
The building manufacturer reported a net profit of $54.1 million for the half year ending January 31 this year.
