It sounds like you are much closer to this than I am so I will defer to your greater knowledge of the situation.
In any event, the very existance of FMG's own very valuable railway can be traced back to its failure to secure a track on BHP's railway a long time ago. Who knows what would have happened if they had gained access at the time.
It may turn out to be a positive for FMG anyway.
