** JetBlue Airways Corp JBLU.O on Monday commenced a hostile all-cash takeover bid for Spirit Airlines Inc SAVE.N , days after the discount carrier rejected an offer from the larger rival.
** French retailer Casino CASP.PA said it had launched a process to sell its renewable energy unit GreenYellow with a view to a potential transaction by the end of the year.
** Billionaire Gautam Adani's conglomerate plans to buy Switzerland-based Holcim AG's HOLN.S cement businesses in India for $10.5 billion, becoming the country's No. 2 cement manufacturer in its largest-ever acquisition.
** KKR-backed Crosby Group, a U.S. lifting and rigging company, will launch a tender offer for all of Japanese hoists and cranes maker Kito Corp 6409.T for 56.48 billion yen ($438 million), the companies said.
** Shares in Vodafone VOD.L jumped 4% in early trade on Monday after the United Arab Emirates-based telecoms company e& ETISALAT.AD revealed it had bought a 9.8% stake in the British mobile operator.
** Renault RENA.PA will sell its majority stake in carmaker Avtovaz
AVAZI_p.MM to a Russian science institute, the French carmaker said, adding that the deal included a six-year option to buy back the stake.** Private equity firm Carlyle Group Inc CG.O is in advanced talks to buy U.S. defense contractor ManTech International Corp MANT.O in a deal valuing it at about $4 billion, Bloomberg News reported on Sunday, citing people familiar with the matter.
** Brambles Ltd (BXB) said it was weighing an unsolicited takeover offer from European private equity company CVC Capital Partners, which a report pegged the Australian logistics firm at A$20 billion ($13.89 billion) including debt.
