News: BXB Deals of the day-Mergers and acquisitions

May 17 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals were reported by 1400 GMT on Tuesday:

** British advertising group M&C Saatchi SAA.L rejected a fresh 253.6 million pounds ($316.44 million) takeover offer from the acquisition vehicle of its top shareholder Vin Murria.

** RWE RWEG.DE , Germany's largest power producer, has started a process to divest its gas storage business in the Czech Republic, it said on Tuesday, adding it had already received encouraging feedback from potential European buyers.

** Intercontinental Exchange Inc ICE.N said it will sell its stake in securities settlement platform Euroclear Holding for 709 million euros ($742.89 million) to companies owned by the French and Belgian governments.

** Shares in London-listed ContourGlobal GLO.L leapt by a third after U.S. private company KKR KKR.N agreed to buy the power generation company for 1.75 billion pounds ($2.16 billion) in a bid to expand its renewable energy portfolio.

** Woodside Petroleum (WPL) does not expect heavy selling of the company's shares by BHP Group (BHP) , BHPB.L investors if Woodside's acquisition of BHP's petroleum business goes ahead in June, Chief Executive Meg O'Neill said.

** Britain's competition watchdog will conduct an investigation into the London Stock Exchange's LSEG.L acquisition of Quantile Group, it said.

** Australia's Brambles Ltd (BXB) said European private-equity firm CVC Capital Partners has ended preliminary talks with the company over a potential A$20 billion ($14 billion) takeover offer, citing external market volatility.

** A public acquisition offer by Colombian business magnate Jaime Gilinski for shares in food producer Nutresa NCH.CN did not attract the minimum interest required for it to be valid, the country's stock exchange said on Monday.

** Elon Musk said on Tuesday his $44-billion offer would not move forward until Twitter Inc TWTR.N shows proof that spam bots account for less than 5% of its total users, hours after suggesting he could seek a lower price for the company.
