This morning's Age newspaper reports that Cabcharge (ASX:CAB) wants Justice Ray Finkelstein removed from the trial looking into the company's dominance of the taxi-payments market.

The newspaper says Cabcharge alleges that Justice Finkelstein may potentially have some bias based on his involvement at a hearing of the Competition Tribunal back in 2006 - when a witness, who is set to appear at the Cabcharge trial in October, submitted written evidence to the tribunal.

Justice Finkelstein is president of the Australian Competition Tibunal.

Cabcharge has renewed its call for the judge to be disqualified from the trial, which centres on allegations that the company breached the Trade Practices Act by aggressively dominating the taxi payments industry.

But Justice Finkelstein is reportedly refusing to disqualify himself from the case.

Cabcharge increased its net profit in the year to 30 June 2009 to $61 million.
