But even taking these guys figures, the fact does remain the same that US Avg mortgage is $350k and AU $850k and at 5% interest rate the percentage of salary going into mortgage interest payment is still way much higher in OZ.............whilst the yanks are taxed less than the Australians we are hurt more................equation is still bad for us here in OZ..........IMO DYOR
