Spot on, IMO. CCP has one core skill, it is very good at collecting money from a demographic that is eithyer loath to pay debts as a matter of inclination, or because of straitened circumstances. This strength can be directed to collecting on PDLs, collecting as a service, collecting on unsecured loans, and considering one of the new initiatives, collecting instalments on goods sold.

CCP has a history of many acquisitions over the last dozen years (I am aware of five), CCP usually buys the business for no more than the value of their books. In the case of CLH, which is not included in the five that I mentionjed, CCP just bought the book, and collected more from it than targeted. CLH picks up a share of that better-than-target value, which demonstrated CCP's proclivioty to be fair, and I personally feel it could use the same concept to obtain new PDL suppliers, and keep them.

On the last point, I ran a consultancy service focused on a narrow field in which I came to be an expert - expert enough to know what I could deliver and how long it would take me. To reduce negotation to a near-zero effort, I quoted a price, and informed the clients in writing, that if they were not happy with the deliverable, they could not pay, or pay less than I asked for. The consultancy was incredibly successful, from my point of view, and it created a great deal of trust that lead to repeat business. Expertise and trust is the key to success, IMO, and this is what I see in CCP.
