July 7 (Reuters) - Athene Holding Ltd ATH.N and U.S. private-equity firm Apollo Global Management APO.N acquired a 15% stake in Australian investment manager Challenger Ltd (CGF) , the companies said on Wednesday.
U.S.-based retirement services provider Athene, which is set to merge with Apollo in an $11 billion all-stock deal, said the purchase will give it an 18% stake in Challenger.
