The standard of living 'we have' has NOTHING to do with the union movement.

It has EVERYTHING to do with billions of tonnes of Iron ore, coal, oil and gas etc and the fact that Australia has a small population.

If your union movement had any balls theyd have ensured that their 'comrades' could make something! in this country that could compete with European produced goods (eg cars).

Instead your unionst philosophy is to ensure the lollipop man on the contruction site is paid $130k pa after his smoko alliance, fat gut allowance, tea break allowance, taking a snapper allowance etc ie - ensure unpriductive people are paid far too much at the expense of ebsuring a broad based competitve manufacturing sector for the ENTIRE economy.
