Engineering and construction company Murray & Roberts Holdings has told Deal Journal Australia it may sell its stake in Australian engineering firm Clough Limited (ASX:CLO).

The South African company is reportedly looking to raise funds to weather the global recession from the sale of its 62 per cent stake.

A final decision to sell has not yet been made.

Clough made a net profit of $33 million for the year to June 30, 2011.
