Thanks Adam, as usual a considered, calm and rational approach. I would have loved to have held COL but could not justify the price when I really needed the capital for other opportunities. The price looks full to me and as this hoarding declines, I think sales will go back to more normal levels, albeit the current half year earnings will look great!
Not having invested through the GFC I am curious to hear how you think the capital raisings may occur. In the GFC were they mainly SPP for retail investors or were they more likely to be a rights issue as a proportion of your holding? Perhaps in the case of a number of SPPs it may be worth having small holdings in a number of companies, so the option to participate is there when it arises?
Quote I read the other day 'This is just like investing through the GFC,except you could die'. I think people are worried about their health as wellwhich is not helping volatility in the market.
