News: Consumer sentiment hurts Reject Shop

    The Reject Shop Limited (ASX:TRS) says weak consumer sentiment and flooding in Queensland has taken its toll on profits. The Managing Director describing the period as the most challenging year in the company’s history.



    The Reject Shop posted a net profit after tax of $16 million for the year to June 30. That’s a 30% fall from the year before. Sales grew from $471 million to $505 million, with 23 stores opening during the year.



    The Reject Shop will pay a final dividend of eight cents, fully franked.
