The final cost of shares bought by buying rights will be the amount you pay for the right plus $13.55. The rts price generally approximates the current SP less $13.55 but if that is less for some reason then buying rts may be a cheaper way to buy CPU shares if you want more. You need to watch however how and when the 13.55 needs to be paid if you are exercising rts. Some brokers may want you to actually pay the 13.55 application money when you settle the purchase of the rts which could be a big chunk of money depending on how many rts you bought. Commsec wants this done I think unless you make some other arrangement but I have not checked this out.
