Coalbug quotes the metcoal price being down to 122 a 70 drop since july.
CRN are now using 140 in the profit update.
we are below that so to get back to 140 ave we will need to get back above 140 over the next few months.
just looking again at curragh sales mix pie chart in terms of exports they sell some hcc some shcc and some pci. Fairly equal mix. Also they have a longterm high ash thermal contract to one of the plants in qld that looks to be around 3mt. Assume that is a legacy contract with very good price terms for the generator.
the key point coalbug mak es is that the downgrading of the hcc produces is lagging that of thermal producers.
hopefully price can bounce back up to stop the further down grades.
