News: CSR completes sale of Sucrogen

    Building products company CSR Ltd (ASX:CSR) has completed the sale of its sugar business, Sucrogen, to Singapore-based agribusiness Wilmar International for $1.8 billion.

    CSR says it will return $800 million from the sale to shareholders in a fully franked special dividend of 52.7 cents a share.

    CSR had been working to split its sugar and building businesses for some time.

    For the half year ended 30 September 2010, CSR reported a net profit of $74 million.
