News: Discovery Africa trenches broad graphite in Tanzania

Discovery Africa (ASX:DAF) has released Total Graphite Carbon assay results from its maiden trenching program across outcropping graphitic zones at its Nachingwea Graphite Project in Tanzania.

Highlight results included 28 metres at 8.1% TGC from within Trench 4 that contained 73 metres at 5.6% TGC; and 12 metres at 6.9% TGC from within Trench 5 that contained 81 metres at 4.4% TGC.

A total of 403 metres of trenching and 4 pits were excavated across three exploration targets on two tenements. 

All trenches encountered broad intervals of graphite mineralisation with coarse flake graphite and mineralisation remains open.

In addition, a number of trenches ended or started in graphite mineralisation;

Electromagnetic surveys are now being planned to delineate additional graphite mineralisation.

DAF has a dominant tenement position at Nachingwea located between and adjacent graphite projects held by Syrah Resources (ASX:SYR) and Magnis Resources (ASX:MNS).

The project area has comprehensive infrastructure with access to electricity, water, sealed roads and within 180 kilometres of a containerised port facility.

The company is modestly valued at around $4 million.
