Australia's Downer EDI (DOW) has secured an A$860 million ($572.9 million) contract for maintenance services across New South Wales' public housing portfolio, the construction firm said on Thursday.
As part of the contract, Downer will provide housing modification and cleaning services to about 24,000 public homes in areas such as Sydney, the Southern Tablelands, South Coast, Macarthur and the Southern Highlands, and Illawarra.
Homes NSW, a government initiative, has awarded the contract to the Sydney-based company for an initial period of five years, with provisions to extend it for another five years.
The contract will commence on July 1.
