In NSW you can set up interest bearing accounts for example to avoid the " law society " getting all the interest . Due to setup and entry / exit fees it needs to be a reasonable amount.

In regard to what has been disclosed to date in company reports if the money was in the "rated" investment that is basically only big 5 Aussie banks so if it was on deposit in trust with major bank in theory. Only a fool for management IMO would allow a solicitor to combine / pool such funds in an outside investment . Will be interesting to see the wash up when DUB come clean and see what is recovered and where / if a claim for funds can be made and from who let alone any possible court action?

IMO if it was simple to recover , still secure or just a timing issue there are ways to bridge fund that situation rather than dilute shareholder into oblivion.
