Conversational intelligence and unified recording platform Dubber reached an agreement with Vodafone over the provision of artificial intelligence and recording services. The offerings will be directly provided from Vodafone’s mobile networks, initially for Vodafone business customers in Germany and the UK.

A clear focus of the deal is on the opportunity to streamline compliance across multiple European markets. The deal will see Vodafone migrate its current mobile recording customer base to a unified communications platform. Dubber’s conversational AI capabilities will be integrated into Cisco Webex, Microsoft Teams, and RingCentral to give end users a single view of conversations across fixed and mobile networks.

Barry McSorley, Vodafone’s Head of Unified Communications and Platforms, talked up the partnership’s facilitation of “greater data insights”, as well as the hosted recording service’s ability to “expand and improve customer trust and loyalty with their own customers”. The deal marks a significant milestone for Dubber in the European market, with McSorley claiming that the move will see Vodafone “drawing on the strength” of its “geographical presence”.

Dubber Chief Executive Steve McGovern also expressed optimism about the tie-up, describing Vodafone as a “very important relationship for Dubber”. Speaking about the practicality of the partnership, McGovern stated that the “calls across the Vodafone network contain an enormous amount of content, and deployment of the Dubber platform will enable an expansive range of differentiated products and services”. He also praised the collaborative work between the pair on co-engineering plans, and designs for the “next generation of recording” based within a fully automated “self-service cloud solution”.
