"2.2. Activation of CNTs
The solution of CNTs (Aladdin, 9–10 wt %) was freeze-dried first. The CNTs were dissolved uniformly in ethanol with KOH (Aladdin, 85%) at a weight ratio of 1:5. After the ethanol was evaporated in air at 60 °C, the CNTs were heated in a tubular furnace under an Ar atmosphere at 750 °C for 90 min. The heating rate was 5 °C min–1. After activation, the CNTs were washed with 1 M HCl and air-dried. The product was denoted porous-CNTs (P-CNTs)."

Seems this new venture for EDE is rather well-timed. They are now building data sets for the manufacture of different morphologies of their CNT/F. Nothing in the agreement stops EDE from producing custom CNT's for others needing them for research/production.
