The majority of pollies are from states where gas production has been used as a political tool to unseat a few pollies. They are therefore not prepared to back gas in most cases especially where fracking is a possibility. Public opinion seems to favour pollies that talk "renewables".

The main hope I see for Blue is with a shortage of domestic and export gas supplies.
