LONDON, March 14 (Reuters) - Northwest European diesel barge cracks dropped to about $27.50 a barrel on Thursday as buying activity slowed and regional inventories rose.

• Around 22,000 metric tons of diesel barges traded in the Platts window, down 11,000 tons from the previous session.
• Gasoil stocks held in independent storage in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) refining and storage hub rose by 3.6% in the week to Thursday, according to data from Dutch consultancy Insights Global.
• Gasoil stocks rose to 2.11 million metric tons, their highest since August 2023, amid weak demand, Insights Global's Lars van Wageningen said.
• U.S. distillate fuel stocks USOILD=ECI , which include diesel and heating oil, rose by 888,000 barrels to 117.9 million barrels in the week to March 8, versus expectations for a 150,000-barrel drop, data from the EIA showed.
• Diesel imports into Europe were so far projected to reach 4.81 million tons in March, already higher than a total of 4.65 million tons last month, LSEG analyst Raj Rajendran said in a note.
• Imports were particularly strong from Asia and the Middle East at 2.36 million tons projected for March.
