LONDON, June 18 (Reuters) - Northwest European diesel barge refining margins rose by nearly $1 to $20.50 a barrel on Tuesday after a report that a major European production unit had been shut down.

• No diesel barges traded in the afternoon window for a fourth session in a row.
• Shell closed a 56,300 barrel per day (bpd) hydrocracking unit at its Pernis oil refinery in the Netherlands on June 18, consultancy Wood Mackenzie reported. Wood Mackenzie also reported decreased activity on the 58,600 bpd vacuum distillation unit (VDU) during the morning of June 18, it said in its refinery intelligence report.
• Diesel and gasoil arrivals into North West Europe and the Mediterranean are set to drop on the month in June, according to LSEG data.
• Arrivals are projected to reach 8.46 million metric tons in June, down from 10.3 million tons in May.
• China's exports of kerosene and diesel surged in May versus year-earlier levels, customs data showed on Tuesday, on strong jet fuel output, international flight demand and high diesel inventories.
