LONDON, Aug 1 (Reuters) - Northwest European gasoline refining margins rose by 72 cents a barrel on Thursday to $16.40 even as regional inventories increased, as a larger than expected stockdraw in the U.S. supported arbitrage economics.
- A total of 5,000 metric tons of Eurobob E5 barges traded in the Argus window, with Shell selling to BP.
- Another 8,000 tons of Eurobob E10 traded in the Argus window, with Shell and Varo selling to ExxonMobil, TotalEnergies and Musket.
- Independently held gasoline stocks in storage in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) refining and storage hub stood at about 1.07 million metric tons, rising 3.6% on the week, data from Dutch consultancy Insights Global showed.
- Gasoline stocks rose despite a small rise in exports to the U.S. and West Africa, as more naphtha was added to gasoline blending tanks, Insight Global's Lars van Wageningen said.
- U.S. gasoline stocks USOILG=ECI fell by 3.7 million barrels last week to 223.8 million barrels, according to the Energy Information Administration (EIA).
- EU and UK gasoline and gasoline component exports have reached about 1.22 million barrels per day in July, up from 1.11 million bpd in June, according to Kpler data.
- Motiva Enterprises was continuing repairs to the shut gasoline-producing fluidic catalytic cracker (FCC) at its 626,000 barrel-per-day Port Arthur, Texas refinery on Wednesday, people familiar with plant operations said.
- Motiva hopes to restart the 81,000-bpd FCC later this week, the sources said.
