There was an Article in the AFR on the weekend where BHP sort of suggested that the oil problem atm is a flash in the pants. They cited increase in population, move to middle class of large number of people, annual decline of a min 3% in oil wells, lack of investment etc. Add to this the cost of shale oil and the impact on american consumption. The article sounded a bit like a HC post which would be attacked by the likes of you know who for having no substance or proof. They definitely sounded sanguine about the current state and have no intention to get out of the oil business.
But what would they know!!!! We have better people here on HC and boy do they know!!!
