Instituional and "Sophisticated Investors" were able to apply for shares in the cap raise last week. This is referred to as an Instituional placement. As a so called sophisticated investor I was approached by my broker and applied for shares - I was granted two thirds of what I applied for.
The general public, including me can access 1 share for every 9 they hold in their Retail Non Renounceable Entitlement Offer
Basically in most Capital Raises, institutions and Sophisticated Investors get better and earlier access to new shares.
A sophisticated investor are people whose broker has determined them to be of higher net wealth and thus "sophisticated".
