Personally I think there may be some "players" who have multiple accounts and wind people up at both ends. The weird thing is that I agree with Dolce that there are likely to be some shorts who have made money both ways but I suspect some of them may be emboldened by being on the list for Capital Raisings.

Get wind of an upcoming raising (or maybe even just suspect it), short, get a placement or buy on market if necessary. Maybe post on here. Rinse and Repeat.

Purely guesswork and supposition on my behalf but it's one reason I've been incredibly careful in taking a stake in MSB because of the weird trading around the Capital Raises. I'd rather be completely wrong and miss out than even have a chance of someone with more information take me to the cleaners. But that's just me, a little bit of paranoia comes in handy every now and then.
