In the minds of the Takeovers Panel the HAVE made a final decision. APA are appealing to them to review their decision but they are under no obligation to, and under no obligation to change their mind if they do review it. Qantas should trade sometime tomorrow, albeit not until the Qantas board has issued a very humbling statement to the markets.
Qantas may fall as low as $4.00 initially due to the forced sale of shares in breach of the foreign ownership cap, however in the 5 months since the bid was announced airline shares around the world have done extremely well, some such as Singapore Airlines doubling in value. Any dip should be short-lived, and represents great value.
