Forced sales take place on a last-in, first-out basis. The current situation has been tolerated because it was expected to resolve itself when the takeover was completed. Not sure what sort of timeframe they have now, but my guess is that the US hedge funds will dump and run on the first day rather than maybe being forced to sell on a low-volume day or at a lower price.
