Fleetwood Corporation Limited (ASX:FWD) says it has been accepted to build, own and operate a transient workforce accommodation village in Gladstone, Queensland.
The accommodation manufacturer says the village will have a capacity of 1,000 people and will be built and installed by one of Fleetwood’s subsidiaries.
Fleetwood expects to start construction in the first quarter of 2013.
The company advises that more than $50 billion is being injected by major resource companies on projects in Gladstone.
Fleetwood Corporation’s net profit rose 10 per cent to $26.9 million in the first half of its 2012 financial year.
