I am fully aware of what China is doing RIGHT NOW in Africa, specifically Congo and that fight for resources happened quite some time ago as I can confirm being a sad holder of AVZ.
That fight is also going both ways and leads only to stagnation, meaning these resources may be stuck in the ground for a decade.
However that article I posted above mentions that China's belt & road has now left them with almost US$1Trillion debt on top of their troubles right now.
If you lend poor people money you will rarely get anything back and it is pretty clear China is no angel that can donate that kind of money.
