haha yes long time lurker, first time poster.

when I seen the article about fmg and Guinea I thought oh $hit , I couldn't let it pass and say nothing. I remember having to go back to Guinea for a tender site visit for work on a Anglo Ashanti gold mine just outside Siguiri. Driving around onsite you would think you were on a abandon mine, artisanal miners everywhere, general public riding motorbikes with families onboard on haul roads, shanty towns being built right on the edge of the mine close enough that the locals were complaining because the blasts were shaking there shanty houses to bits. Anglo had absolutely no control, the government had no control. The government will want a share in Nimba or Simandou but won't contribute when it comes time to pay up, they want to be partner in the profits but not the expenditure.
