Comet applies for Nickel licence
October 9, 2003 - 4:30PM
Comet Resources Ltd has applied for two new exploration licences targeting nickel.
The Perth-based company said the tenements covered areas considered prospective for nickel mineralisation.
"These two new tenements have been named the Devine and Jilbadji projects and Comet proposes to commence evaluation immediately," the company said.
The 140 square kilometre Devine project in the Dingo Range greenstone belt is 90km northeast of Leinster in the northern Goldfields.
Comet has also applied for a licence over the 80km2 Jilbadji project area, 50km southeast of Marvel Loch.
The company said exploration on the Devine project during the early 1970s reported Nickel gossans and intersections of disseminated sulphides in percussion and diamond drill holes.
Comet intends to begin field evaluation on both projects this month
