    A couple of weeks old now, but some local news in Brazil confirming TI1 expecting plenty of truck movements on the local roads:

    In order to guide drivers and the population of Sento Sé on basic measures to be adopted in traffic, Tombador Iron, the company responsible for iron ore, in Sento Sé, promoted the 1st educational blitz this Friday morning (18 ), in the Cidade Nova neighborhood. In addition to guidance on the use of helmets and seatbelts, folders with information on positive behaviors for safer traffic were also distributed. A kit with mask, alcohol gel and mineral water was given to each driver.

    “ It's a job in which we rely a lot on the support of the drivers. It is important to assimilate the guidelines, read the material to reflect on how to improve behavior in traffic. Only a responsible direction, with respect for the spaces of other road users and obedience to the signs that we will have a safer traffic ”, highlighted Carlos Eduardo Souto, Health, Safety and Environment Manager at Tombador Iron.

    According to the Municipal Civil Guard (GCM), every day more than 3,000 vehicles pass on the highway that connects Sento Sé to the communities of Itapera, Andorinhas, Aldeia, Limoeiro and Pascoal (APL), Tombador and Retiro. The maximum speed allowed on the road is 40km/h. To keep up with this growth, Tombador Iron has invested in various urban mobility and traffic safety actions, such as resurface works, installation of horizontal and vertical signage and traffic guidance.

    “ Before the arrival of the trucks, the company had already been making improvements to the road. We started earthmoving in January and we are under constant maintenance. We have a road safety program created by Tombador specifically for this purpose. Signposts were also placed to guide drivers and have better traffic on the road ”, informed the Mine Manager, Marcos Julião Domiciano.

    For driver João Carlos Farias, 62, raising people's awareness is very important. “ It was work that needed to be carried out on site, especially now with this movement of the mining company's trucks. Educating people is very important, because from this awareness we can teach the next generations ”, he said.

    The action was attended by Jaymilson Magalhães (Operational Director), Marcos Julião Domiciano (Mine Manager), Carlos Eduardo Souto (Health, Safety and Environment Manager), Rosenval Silva (Seme Operations Manager), Barbara Rodrigues (Social Assistant ), Alan Francisco de Carvalho (Sociologist), João Wilton Lopes (Administrative Sector Tombador Iron), Deuzimar dos Santos Tintino (Work Safety Technician SEMEP and Bárbara Rodrigues (Social Worker).

    The Military Police (PM) and Municipal Civil Guard (GCM) also participated in the blitz, providing support and making themselves available, in the mission to serve and protect, strengthening the partnership with Tombador Iron for the construction of safe traffic. And so, all together contributing to public safety.
