Right now, it is forbidden to mine uranium in Sweden, but if the ban is lifted, Aura energy plans to also mine uranium in the Oviken area.There is a political process underway that could mean just such a change – that the uranium ban is lifted.
Aura energy's application in the Oviken area concerns vanadium and other critical metals, but not uranium. But in the company's concept study it appears that the company still has hopes of mining uranium. According to the company's calculations, the uranium could contribute 14 percent of the income from the Oviken discovery.
