News: Geopacific Resources confirms strike at copper-gold project in Cambodia

Geopacific Resources (ASX:GPR) has confirmed the strike extent of mineralisation at its Kou Sa copper-gold project in Cambodia.

Reuslts from the recently completed induced polarity ground geophysics program shows an excellent correlation with previous results from anomalous soil geochemistry and known areas of copper-gold mineralisation.

It also highlights that mineralisation already identified continues along the full length of the geochemical trends that have successfully guided exploration to date.

The first drillhole tested, using a target generated from the IP results, was south of Prospect 117.

Drilling immediately encountered a broad zone of copper from surface to 48.25 metres at 0.8% copper equivalent.

This included a high grade interval of 5.95 metres at 3.12% copper equivalent from 42.3 metres associated with a chalcocite zone.

A second IP target tested west of the mineralisation at Prospect 100 with the best result to date being 13.6 metres at 3.82% copper equivalent.

Although further testing is required, the company believes that these results confirm the relationship between IP targets and the occurrence of mineralisation.
