Sounds good to me. No point buying something cyclical when everything is rosey. Analysts - well if they aren't putting their personal money down, it reduces the value of their opinions somewhat, not that there isn't some useful information to be gleaned from them!
I like investing in beaten up stocks - but I try to buy forever holds for my super funds. I think GNC is a stock to always be keeping an eye on, and hopefully take advantage of the ups and downs. There'll probably be another takeover offer for something in the next few of years, based on past history.
I remember we were holding in Oct 2012 - that was a ripper - chatting with you under my old HC nic Markie Mills. Was a very good month. I probably bought as I thought the SP would rebound after the cap raise - and it sure did.
I closed my GNC short Friday.
