I shorted it when the TO was off, and the nonsense about derivatives was being sold to the market. Sorry if you and others have taken a hit. I do think that GNC will be all over any available derivatives already. Not sure they would suddenly learn something amazing and earth shattering.
I was arguing with my brother about getting income protection insurance etc - that logically if you insure away "all" of your risks, then you will be down the insurance margin on balance, and more than you earn will go to insurers to cover every risk you face - in theory. He disagreed! And he is very intelligent (probably unlike me - lol)
For the financiers - the derivatives would open up looking at the credit worthiness of the counterparties. The "cleverest" derivatives seem to have all run aground in the past.
