Brisbane-based Suncorp Group Limited (ASX:SUN) has appointed the CEO and Managing Director of diversified property group GPT Group (ASX:GPT) as its new chief.
Michael Cameron has led GPT Group for six years, has been a non-executive director of Suncorp Group since April 2012 and will step into his new role in October.
Suncorp’s departing Managing Director and CEO Patrick Snowball will step down in October and return to the UK after leading the company for six years.
GPT Group says an internal succession process has been underway for some time and the company will also undertake an external search to identify potential candidates.
Suncorp Group improved its net profit by 15 per cent to $636 million in the first half of the 2015 financial year.
