A companies value is worth only what punters are prepared/able to pay for it..

I'm hearing a lot of talk about retail money being pulled out of the stock market due to a forecast 30% pullback in the Dow over the next few months. I must say, I'm very tempted to move to a gold based defensive position myself, for a few months...

There is an view that if the world goes into a major recession/depression, demand for all (non-bullion) commodities, including energy, will plummet. I can't see too many catalysts for a counter argument to this view point at the moment.
