News: Heron appoints new non-executive director

Heron Resources Limited (ASX:HRR) has appointed corporate banker Fiona Robertson to the board as an independent non-executive director.

The finance professional has 20 years of CFO experience and 14 years on the global corporate banking scene.

The appointment follows a tumultuous few months for the board who were forced to hold a spill meeting in February after shareholders revolted at the AGM.

Major shareholder the Canadian investment firm Sprott put forward three new directors but eventually agreed to the re-election of existing members.

Heron Resources reported a net loss of $3.8 million for the half year ended 31 December 2014.
