I don't think paying two small dividends per year will make a huge difference compared to paying one big dividend. Performance is more important, although even some high performing LIC's are now trading at a discount. I think they need an on market buyback if they are serious about reducing the discount. The downside is that reduces FUM so donations to medical research would be slightly less.
