I am an exfinancier and can assure you that "high quality" loans can become unprofitable due to margin compression and change of rates. I am sure the quality they are referring to is the quality of the credit involved. I think some of our investors do not quite understand the language. Say what you like this was written on the wall a week ago and it is not hard to understand why both companies have agreed to a harmonious break of the deal. There will be no penalties here - really bad timing to do a deal of this nature - I would have been heading for the door if I had been on either side. Yes it will cost me and I have seen these things occur before but I stayed in when I should not have.
